Blog Challenge - Day 3
Most people would expect someone to put a person as their first love. If that were the case for me, I'd be lying, only because I didn't fall in love with another person for the first time until I was 19 years old.
No, my first love was a series. A wonderful, magical, and unique series of seven stories about a young boy with dark hair, glasses, and a recognizable scar on his forehead. J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series was my first love, as I fell hard for it when I was 11 years old.
To this day, over 15 years later, I still love the story. I apply Harry Potter much to my everyday life, I proudly call myself a Potterhead, am eager to share in Harry Potter with others, especially those who aren't very familiar with it. I enjoy wearing my Muggle shirt and having people stop me in the street to partake in a conversation about the Wizarding World. I loved walking into Universal Studios Florida and coming around the corner into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park with my fiancée next to me, and seeing Hogsmeade for the first time - it was a truly magical moment. In fact, my fiancée has actually told me that in that moment was when she fell in love with me, was seeing my face as we came into Hogsmeade. She knew right then that she was in love with me.
Harry Potter has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old, and has traveled with me through the good, the bad, and the times I need comfort or a good laugh. Harry Potter has worked its way into my life in love and marriage, and will be a part of my child's life without any doubt. Harry Potter is my first love, and one of the loves I will hold close to my heart for my entire life. I am so grateful I was born in a time where it existed, and am glad it will exist from this point forward.
I've been "stupefied" by it's existence :)
